Welcome to The Barbados YMCA!
I would like to thank you on behalf of our members and Board of Directors for taking the time
to visit us and familiarise yourself with what we are doing here at the Y.
I am sure you will find a variety of opportunities for you and yours to participate in our wide
range of activities and become a part of the YMCA Family.
It is my honour to lead such a historic organisation which has been around for more than 140
years. We hold the distinction of being the oldest YMCA chapter in Latin America and The
Caribbean. The Barbados YMCA has seen and contributed to its share of Barbados history
and with your help will continue to provide for all who come through our doors.
The Y has always been dear to me as my paternal lineage is from the immediate vicinity.
Additionally, I attended both primary and secondary school in The Bridgetown area, all of
these making the organisation a part of my DNA. My leadership participation comes through
my activity in youth sports and The Y has afforded me the opportunity to provide coaching
and mentorship to the youth we serve. If you are reading this, you too may be compelled to
give of your time, knowledge, experience and love and I encourage you to reach out to us so
we can together identify a way for you to give.
We look forward to hearing from and welcoming you as we build our youth and build a better
Barbados.
